Congratulations to the students from the Faculty of Health Professions who were recognized for their contributions to Dalhousie and the wider community at the second annual IMPACT awards held on Tuesday, March 26. A special congratulations goes out to Katie Van Patter from the School of Nursing who took home three awards!

Rising Star Award
Presented to first, second and third year students who have best demonstrated an outstanding level of commitment, leadership, creativity and initative to the DSU, as well as to the campus and community at large.

Intramural Live Well@Dal Award
The Intramural Live Well@Dal Award is presented to an intramural participant who demonstrates the highest level of committment to Dalhousie's intramural program, exemplifies the role of intramurals in promoting student engagement, models positive leadership and inspires others to get involved and have fun on campus.

Residence Life Impact Awards
Residence Life Impact Awards are presented to a current member of each residence hall community at Dalhousie who has made an outstanding contribution to the life of the residence community, leads by example, and goes above and beyond to support their peers.

Residence Life Leader Awards are presented to a current residence student in each residence hall in a leadership position. They have best demonstrated an exceptional level of maturity and professionalism, they encourage and empower students to engage in student life, they lead by example, and they work to improve the life and community of the residence hall.

Certificate of Distinction
Certificates of Distinction are awarded to students who demonstrate above-average contributions to campus life over the course of a university career based on a DSU-determined points system. Points are awarded for holding positions within the DSU - as members of Dalhousie societies, through residence leadership roles, and other extracurricular involvement.

The Top DSU Council Member Award is presented to the Councillor who has best exemplified a committment to collaborative problem solving, active representation of their constituency, and initiative in the pursuit of innovation.

Faculty Leadership Awards are presented to a student in good academic standing in each Dalhousie faculty. These students exemplify the highest level of passion for their discipline, take initiative in creating new opportunities, and encourage their peers to engage in faculty events. Faculty Leadership Award winners positively impact other students in their faculty and the reputation of their faculty at Dalhousie outside of the classroom.
