Health Outcomes Fellowship
Position description
Based at Dalhousie University, ranked as the top non-US university in the world for fellowships*, this two-year fellowship position will provide an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to acquire knowledge and skills in health outcomes research. The goals of this fellowship are to educate and train the fellow in the areas of health outcomes management, pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research, to provide relevant theory and experience in the application of these principles, and to expand their role in the decision making process of the optimal allocation of the limited resources of the health care system. The fellow will be involved in various aspects of research projects, including grant writing, literature reviews, methods design, data analysis, study coordination, and writing completed research projects for peer-reviewed medical journals. Opportunities for teaching and presentation of research findings also exist.
Required or desired credentials or experience of applicants:
Completion of a Pharm.D., or a Ph.D. or Masters degree in a field such as community health and epidemiology, health services administration, health policy, or a health professional program (pharmacy, nursing, etc.). Excellent skills in critical appraisal of literature, planning and performing quantitative data analysis, scientific writing, and verbal communication are essential.
