Creating a Team
Each year, student teams decide if they are going to be active in the upcoming academic year. If you would like to either form a new team or continue with your current team’s work, an application form and a project plan must be submitted. If you would like to participate in the annual golf tournament, your application must be submitted by August 1st. Otherwise, applications are due on September 30th. An advisory committee will review all applications and will confirm whether the team may proceed.
Every team must have a Faculty Advisor. Please reach out to your professors and department heads if you are not able to find a faculty advisor for your team. A few key roles of the Faculty Advisor are to:
- Endorse the value of the student team
- Monitor and advise the team on a regular basis
- Facilitate access to resources
- Provide a recommendation to the Advisory Committee on competition readiness
The form to apply to create a team can be found here (Student Engineering Team Application Form 2024/25).
