Biography

Cenk Sahin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Cukurova University in Adana, Türkiye. He holds an MSc and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cukurova and has been with the department since 2002.  Dr. Sahin's research interests include scheduling of flexible manufacturing systems, supply chain management, agent-based modelling and simulation, industry 4.0, artificial intelligence (AI), and operations research. He has published many articles in leading journals in his field and presented his work at international conferences. During his postdoctoral research with Dalhousie, he worked on smart factories and logistics using agent-based modelling and simulation. In addition to his research, Dr. Sahin is also a dedicated educator. He teaches a variety of courses in the industrial engineering program and is known for his engaging and interactive teaching style. He is also a mentor to many graduate students and is committed to helping them achieve their goals. Dr. Sahin is also a frequent collaborator with industry partners, working on projects that bring cutting-edge research and technology to real-world applications. His consulting projects have focused on developing innovative solutions that utilize AI and industry 4.0 to improve efficiency and productivity in a range of industries, including manufacturing.
