Computer Science student Mariam Ragab and Management / Sustainability student Hayat Showail share a similar commitment to building community and breaking down barriers in the process. Now, they also share one of Canada’s top student honours: a 3M National Student Fellowship, awarded to just 10 undergrads annually.
An unlikely background in the arts and a chance conversation led Andrew Rau-Chaplin to a future in computing. Now, he's putting his rich academic career and industry experience to work, overseeing rapid growth in the Faculty of the Computer Science as dean.

Dal computer scientist Sageev Oore has been named to a top, nationally funded chair program focused on the advancement of research and leadership in artificial intelligence. This is the first Canada CIFAR AI Chair held by a Dalhousie faculty member.
