With big data projects in the works across several faculties, at the institutional level through a unique collaboration among post-secondary educators, and at the student level through the Faculty of Computer Science, it’s safe to say Dal’s making its mark in the big data community.

Instantly recognizing the importance and value of the Network Design and Management course, Cisco graciously contributed a range of equipment and technologies towards the new Cisco Network Security Lab at Dalhousie.
We call them the Network Information Management and Security Group; also known as NIMS lab. Tucked away in their headquarters on the 2nd floor of the Goldberg Computer Science Building, Nur Zincir-Heywood and Malcolm Heywood have become a fundamental staple within the Faculty of Computer Science.
