Mobia ‑ Greg Kamermans Memorial Award
About the Award
Greg Kamermans was a Senor Systems Engineer at Mobia. In tribute to his work and community, Mobia has created an award to recognize and support an upper year undergraduate student during their schooling in the Computer Science Program at Dalhousie under an award in his name.
In memory of him, this award will be issued to a student during their studies at Dalhousie University in the Faculty of Computer Science, that has actively been involved in community betterment via engagement during their studies, showing commitment and dedication to their association or charity of choice.
Nomination requirements and guidelines:
- Recipient must be enrolled as a current undergraduate student in their 2nd year or later in the Faculty of Computer Science.
- Recipient will have demonstrated active investment in community initiatives that benefit society during their studies such as, but not limited to, student society participation, sports leagues, volunteer societies, charitable work, etc.
- Recipient will have high academic standing.
- Preference may be given to recipients who identify themselves as being in need of more financial funding, such as supporting dependents, unexpected and unplanned life events, such as illness or accidents, self-identification of membership in demographic or equity-deserving groups or indicate regular and ongoing gap between income and expenses.
- Preference to those doing community work with a non-profit outside of Dalhousie that services community needs.
