Through soaring melodies, sumptuous harmonies, and evocative texts, A Place to Light invites us to reflect on our search for happiness, peace, and illumination.

A Place to Light explores our human desire for love, comfort, and peace. Through the power of music, our students search for shared meaning and connection and explore texts in which light, both literal and metaphorical, guides our path.

Directed by Dr. Nicole Jordan with pianist, Joseph Dowell, DalChorus welcomes the Halifax Camerata Singers, directed by Dr. Joel Tranquilla, to share the Joseph Strug Concert Hall stage for the first time. Our beautiful collaboration brings together sacred and secular works, from traditional choral works to vibrant contemporary compositions. Our program includes works by Amy Brandon, Cy Giacomin, and Morten Lauridsen.

The Halifax Camerata Singers has contributed to the musical landscape of Atlantic Canada since its founding in 1986 by Artistic Director Emeritus Jeff Joudrey. The award-winning auditioned choir is known for excellence in choral storytelling and for creating memorable live music experiences. Camerata balances the classics of choral repertoire with explorations of new works by underheard voices and championing contemporary Canadian composers.
