French Placement Test

Before you begin

All students taking their first French course al Dalhousie are required to complete the online French Placement Test. 

The French Placement Test was created to help determine which French class is most appropriate to your present knowledge of French, and to give you the best possible chance of succeeding in your French class.

You will need to set up your NetID and password to register for the test. If you are a new student, your NetID is provided in your letter of acceptance.

Ready to begin the test?

Step one... click to REGISTER FOR THE TEST and then proceed to parts B and C to complete the test. (If you are currently in Brightspace, please note that you must logout before you can register for the test.)

If you stop the test before you have finished it, you may go back to the test by logging into Brightspace and selecting the French Placement Test.
