Each year, FASS honours an outstanding professor who has demonstrated excellence in service and the importance of collegial governance to the operation of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with the Service Excellence Award. The recipient for 2023-2024 is Dr. Colin Mitchell, professor in the Department of History.
The annual FASS Award for Excellence in Teaching honours a faculty member who has made an outstanding contribution to teaching, mentoring, and serving the students of the Faculty. The award is intended, above all, to underline the fundamental importance of effective and/or innovative pedagogy. The recipient for 2023-2024 is Dr. Emily Varto, professor in the Department of Classics.

Each year, FASS honours an outstanding administrator who has made an exceptional contribution to supporting faculty members and students with the Staff Award for Excellence in Service. The recipients for 2023-2024 are Michele Edgerton, Administrative Coordinator for the Department of History, and Norma Ranieri, Administrative Coordinator for the Multidisciplinary Centre (now in the Department of English).
