Halifax’s Omar Gandhi Architects made the 2015 shortlist for the World Architecture News (WAN) 21 for 21 Award. Omar Gandhi (BEDS’03, MArchFP’05) leads the firm, which specializes in custom-designed residential projects that focus on craftsmanship, landscape, and materials. The final list of 12, which started out with 40 nominees, celebrates architects positioned to be the leaders in the 21st century. WAN announced that the 2015 list will be the final year for the international award.
Gandhi is a sessional instructor at Dalhousie’s Faculty of Architecture and Planning. Last year, Gandhi was awarded the Canada Council 2014 Prix de Rome prize, recognizing outstanding achievement in Canadian architecture. Wallpaper Magazine also named him in its 2014 list of the world’s best young architectural talent.
