The annual Excellence in Student Leadership Awards Banquet is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, March 16th in the Riverview Room, Jenkins Hall. Event invitations will be sent out in the coming weeks.
The Awards Banquet celebrates Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus students for their contributions to the campus and community, their leadership development and both personal and academic achievements.
The Student Advancement in Leadership (SAIL) Award recipients are celebrated for empowering others to do their best, recognizing and acting when there is a need and acknowledging strength where it is held.
Foremost, this celebration acknowledges those students who have successfully completed the Student Advancement in Leadership (SAIL) program by volunteering, engaging in leadership development events, and fostering student led advocacy.
To learn more about SAIL and to nominate students for any of the twelve Excellence in Student Leadership Awards, go to www.dal.ca/sail and follow the link to the nominations and descriptions.
Nominations open on February 1st and close at midnight on February 26th. Anyone wishing to nominate a student for the Faculty of Agriculture Leadership Impact Award should complete the Faculty of Agriculture Leadership Award nomination form.
Campus community members may also acknowledge student achievements by submitting Kudos. Kudos may be used to recognize a student who may not meet the criteria for any of the SAIL Awards but has still achieved a personal, professional, or academic goal! This is your time to say thank or acknowledge a recent student accomplishment. Kudo submissions will remain open until March 14th.
Faculty and staff interested in being involved with the award review committee are asked to contact Gillian Hatch, Student Success and Engagement Advisor, gillian.hatch@dal.ca. Committee members will be invited to attend the banquet in appreciation for volunteering their time to review nominations.
