The AC Campus daily mail delivery to all campus buildings will be reduced to an “mail room pick up / drop off by appointment only” system until further notice.
FM staff will do a daily mail/parcel pick up to Canada Post in Truro and mail will be centrally located at the Campus Mailroom in Cumming Hall. All packages for students will be delivered to the residence mailroom where residence staff will administer delivery of packages to the students who still reside in residence.
All packages (inter-office and Canada Post) for staff / departments will be held at the campus mailroom and can only be picked up, if scheduled with FM as per the following.
- If there are any special package delivery arrangements that need to be made, clients/staff/students are asked to forward the request to FMClientReception@dal.ca OR enter a FAMIS Self-Serve request (Work Order). Mail delivery is a function of FM and there will be no additional charges for these requests.
- All lab samples for the provincial offices on campus will continue to be delivered as they arrive.
All FM staff are to use Nitrile Gloves when handling mail, wash hands regularly, use Purell when required and follow all other universal precautions as recommended by NS Public Health and Dalhousie University. We ask that all staff and students do the same before handling and posting mail / packages.
Exterior courier services are not affected at this time. Any changes in exterior provider service is subject to change based on the company’s own COVID-19 operational adjustments. Staff are to use their own internal departmental resources to arrange delivery / pick-up of all courier-based packages.
The above changes are now in place and are subject to change due to the fluidity of the COVID-19 directives both from Dalhousie University and Public Health. As adjustment are made, additional communications will follow.
Sincerely,
Facilities Management
