Congratulations to PhD student Shima Borzouie for receiving the “Best Poster Award” from the Physiology Study Commission out of 203 participants at the 70th Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) held in Ghent, Belgium.
Shima is a Biology Department PhD student working with co-supervisors Drs. Leslie MacLaren and Bruce Rathgeber in the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture to understand the metabolic impacts on bird health of prebiotics, heat stress and genetic strain using blood chemistry, hematology and metabolomic techniques.
The 70th EAAP meeting was structured in 73 sessions involving 1,432 participants from 66 countries, and included 1,145 abstracts, 692 theater presentations and 453 poster presentations, so this was a great showcase for our Dalhousie research!
