Student impact was celebrated during the 15th Annual SAIL Excellence in Student Leadership Awards in April.    With over 70 nominations in 12 categories from Environmental Leadership to Student Government, these awards recognize students who have excelled in leadership and have demonstrated commitment to their co-curricular activities, fellow students, staff and faculty and have shown outstanding pride in their work and campus.

Phillip Stead Memorial Excellence in Student Leadership Award - Connor Fullerton

The Phillip Stead Memorial Excellence in Student Leadership Award rewards and celebrates a student with outstanding leadership and passion for their field of study in the Faculty of Agriculture.

Connor consistently demonstrates his capacity to improve a sense of community and well-being by organizing and leading groups, events and activities on and off campus. Connor is an exceptional student, leader and friend of this campus.

His roots go deep as his parents are alumni and his pride for the school goes unmatched.  Academically speaking, Connor is an A+ student and studies in International Food Business and has traveled to Europe, the West Indies and throughout North America seeking to further educate himself in global food movements and food security.

He has an exceptional breadth of experience, from working with the Maritime seafood industry, to providing leadership and context to global education and peer leadership.  Connor's time spent on campus is exceptional as he dedicates much of his time to being the "unofficial" "official" campus photographer, is a well respected and honoured member of WUSC, a senior SAIL member, our campus Career Peer Educator, award winner for his work in Cultiv8 and a peer mentor when a student is in need.

Connor's time in 4H was well spent as he maintained his pride and connection to the organization as he had continued his academic journey.  Connor is known for always being true to himself and those around him, always putting the values and expectations he places upon himself on others without judgement.  His kindness is infectious and the pride he has for his program is exceptional as he is an ambassador for the IFB program, in addition to being an ambassador for Cultiv8.

Connor is known to be a fine man who is caring, considerate and gives everything he can to help his fellow students. He is an exceptional person and we can only guess at the wonderful things he will do with his bright future.

Congratulations Connor!
