POSITION: Online survey assistant [March 2019]
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Campus, Truro
PAY RATE: Negotiable between $15 to $20/h based on the relevant experience
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Online survey assistant will facilitate completing two online based surveys and summarize the responses
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Populate, disseminate, and analyze an online Google Survey (pre-prepared questions – must be familiar with the Google Survey platform);
2. Prepare list of respondents and distribute the survey through e-mail;
3. Collect the responses and summarize the responses into a report with tables and graphics.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Past experience of conducting online surveys. The candidate should maintain the confidentiality of the work according to the policies of Dalhousie University.

Botanical Garden Unit Summer Horticultural Intern
Botanical Garden Unit, Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences
Duties: Duties will include providing a learning opportunity in:
all aspects of landscape maintenance
mowing; spring clean-up; pruning; planting; transplanting; landscape
construction; machinery maintenance; equipment operation and other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled as a student for 2019-2020.
Experience in landscape maintenance an asset.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Own wet gear and safety boots required.
Experience with ground maintenance machinery an asset.
Current First Aid, WHMIS and OH&S training will be considered assets.
Valid Nova Scotia’s driver’s license and certification in defensive driving.
Hours: 35 hours/week; full time hours
Duration: April 22 - August 30, 2019
Wage: As per the Dalhousie Student Pay Scale
