Position: Part-time Academic position- teaching Course ANSC0206 (Dairy Milking Systems and Housing Facilities) in the 2018 fall semester. The lectures for this course are currently scheduled for Wednesday (8:35 – 11:25), with labs scheduled for Friday (14:35 – 17:25).  The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Department/Location: Haley Institute, Dalhousie Agricultural Campus.
Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Work Assignment: The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering course material related to the fundamentals of Dairy Facility Design and Management.  Core concepts to be taught include: barn layout options & housing alternatives, design and logistics of isolation, building environment, manure collection, feed and water storage, traffic control and farm biosecurity, milking center design/management.  Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation, and lab preparation.

Requirements of Position: Experience in the dairy industry and being able to demonstrate knowledge in the subject are requirements.
