The Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture will be welcoming close to 500 Grade 7 students to campus May 29th, 30th and 31st for the Amazing AgZone Race.
AgZone is an annual event that has been co-hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture in its current form for the past 10 years. The goal of AgZone is to promote the science of agriculture and highlight its educational pathways.
“AgZone is an excellent way for us to showcase the Faculty of Agriculture to young minds, and hopefully pique their interest in agriculture,” explains Colette Wyllie, Community Education Manager. “It’s an important event. For the vast majority of participants, AgZone is their first experience on our campus.”
The theme is based on the Amazing Race and students will visit seven interactive stations over the course of each day hosted by Aquaculture, the Ruminant Animal Centre, Plant, Food & Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business & Social Sciences, Cultiv8 and the Department of Agriculture.
