The Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture on the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus is the proud sponsor and host of the 2018 Chignecto West Regional Science Fair.
This year’s Science Fair, held March 20-22nd, will see 53 participants and 42 projects from students in Grades 4 through 12. Projects will be set up in the Langille Athletic Centre.
“We are very excited to host the Chignecto West Regional Science Fair on the Agricultural Campus this year,” said Dean and Campus Principal Dr. David Gray. “Science permeates every facet of our lives and science fairs, like this one, provide students with a hands-on opportunity to learn more about how the world around them works," he added. "We are happy to be part of their learning."
Secondary students, (junior, intermediate and senior) will present projects in the categories of Agriculture, Discovery, Energy, Engineering innovation, Environment, Health, Information and Resources.
During breaks in judging, all participants will have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions hosted on the second floor of the Athletic Centre to learn more about the science that takes place on the Agricultural Campus.
Judging of projects will take place on Tuesday, March 20th. All judges are volunteers from campus, industry and the surrounding community. Awards will be presented on Thursday, March 22nd at 7:00pm in Cox Institute, Room 24.
Good luck to all!
