The Precision Agriculture Research Team (Postdoc, PhD, MSc, undergraduate students and research associate) led by Dr. Zaman are evaluating innovative harvesting technologies in wild blueberry fields.
High School students from CEC and Brookfield also joined the PA team to learn about wild blueberry cropping systems, agricultural machinery and modern techniques to improve harvesting efficiency in order to increase farm profitability.
Dr Emmanuel Yiridoe with a graduate student from Social Sciences and the Business Department at DAL-AC also initiated a project in collaboration with the PA team to examine the economic benefit of the wild blueberry harvester. The precision harvesting research program was initiated at DAL-AC with the collaboration of Doug Bragg Enterprises, Slack Farms Limited and Wild Blueberry Producer Associations to increase harvestable yield.
