Hazardous waste disposal is subject to federal, provincial and municipal legislation that regulate what waste is classified as hazardous, permitted methods of waste disposal, transportation of the waste and the documentation required for the transfer, treatment and disposal of the waste.
To ensure that hazardous waste disposal for the end user, such as laboratory research and teaching groups, is straightforward and convenient while ensuring that all required legislation is adhered to, hazardous waste disposal for the Agricultural Campus will be centralized and managed through the Environmental Health and Safety Office starting June, 2017.
