Cultiv8 is the agricultural sandbox where the campus community can have access to education, resources and space to work on developing an idea.
We have spent the fall semester tackling problems in agriculture to better understand what solutions are needed. Now it’s time to narrow the focus and work on developing the business model for our ideas.
Next week, we invite the entire campus community to think about what ideas they may like to develop. We start with a panel discussion welcoming guests from Perennia, Innovacorp and Tourism NS who will talk about the trends and opportunities they see for agriculture in the food, tourism and tech sectors. This event is free and everyone is welcome. It will be held Tuesday, January 17th, from 4-5 pm in Cox Rm 262.
Then you are all welcome to attend our Idea Validation weekend on Jan 20th and 21st, where we will take 24 hours and focus our energy on discovering what value your idea brings to the customer, and who exactly that customer is. This event is an action- packed event where you will be expected to work on your idea and will have access to mentors on site who will help guide the process. All meals are provided and students are free. Non-students pay a nominal fee of $20. Register asap to reserve your spot. More information can be found @dal.ca/culitv8.
