AC students attend Aquaculture Conference

Posted by stepanie rogers on October 7, 2016 in News

The Aquaculture Association of Canada held its annual Cold Harvest Conference this past September, from the 19th-21st.

Among the many presenters at the conference, three were graduate students from the Agricultural Campus whose abstract submissions were chosen for presentations. Qi Lui, Stephanie Hall and Lindsey Gillard travelled to St. John’s, Newfoundland, to network with leaders and researchers in Canadian aquaculture, as well as present their own projects.

The AAC offers a student travel scholarship to offset the costs of travel for student presenters. Stephanie Hall and Lindsey Gillard were awarded the top scholarship for student travel, which made it possible to attend this conference.

There was a gala and awards ceremony to wrap up the conference. At the gala, the president of the AAC, Cyr Couturier, presented awards and scholarship. The Aquaculture Association of Canada Student Scholarship is a nationally recognized award given to only two recipients each year and one of the 2016 scholarships was awarded to Lindsey Gillard.

Congratulations!
