We are pleased to welcome Ms. Margaret Savard as the new Departmental Administrator, Department of Environmental Sciences.
Margaret has worked with the Faculty of Agriculture at OACC for the past ten years, most recently as Program Manager for the $11million Organic Science Cluster II research program. This has provided unique insight into the administration of large research grants from the perspective of the grant funder and that of the researcher.
Margaret has developed relationships with universities and researchers across Canada. Her prior experience in private industry includes operation management, project management and personnel supervision in an international enterprise company, bringing experience in costing, budgeting and financial and human resource management.
Her focus on analysis, communication and interpersonal relations provides a unique and effective platform for developing systems and solutions.
Holding a degree in English Literature from Acadia University, Margaret routinely enrolls in university classes and is passionate about learning and understanding new ideas, concepts and people. She enjoys traditional folk art, literature and the practice of mindfulness. Born in Nova Scotia, she has lived in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, currently residing in Bible Hill, NS with her family.
Margaret will begin her new position on January 25th, 2016
