16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence

Posted by Stephanie Rogers on November 19, 2015 in News

Members of the Faculty of Agriculture are invited to join the Leadership Theory and Social Action Class in Rural Research Centre at 12-1pm on Monday, November 30th to learn about actions to take to stand for inclusion but against violence; for diversity but against belittling.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender‑Based Violence

The Office of Human Rights, Equity and Harassment Prevention has teamed up with the Gender and Women’s Studies Program and its student association to launch our involvement in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. We have collaborated with various faculties, organizations, services, departments, centres, offices, and programs on campus and in the surrounding Halifax community to host and deliver, over a 16-day period, a series of events, campaigns, and/or activities committed to profiling, addressing and eradicating all forms of sex- and gender-based violence.

The campaign is exactly as it sounds: it runs for the 16-day period between November 25 (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) through to December 10 (International Human Rights Day).
