Rams Weekend Recap

Equestrian

The first AIEL competition of the year was hosted by StFX and held at Creekside Stable , Antigonish Co on Sunday Nov 8th.

The Rams did well in all classes and were overall team champions.  Katelyn Jackson won both her classes; Becca McSwain captured 2nd in two classes; Angelique de Waard and  Kayla Watton were 1st and 2nd in their class; and other riders placed well in their classes.

Indoor Soccer

Women’s

The Rams were flying in their first Indoor league game and defeated NNU Falcons 6-3   Goals for the Rams were scored by Sian Rankin (4) , Alana Bent (1)  and Cora Sharp (1) .

The next HSL for the women is Sun Nov 15 8 pm.  All games are played at the Stellarton Indoor Sobey Complex.

Men’s

The Rams took on Truro FC in indoor soccer action at the East Hants-Shaw Field on Friday evening.  The final score was 4-4 with scoring for the Rams done by Richard McNevin, Alexis Barrister,  Rick Van den Brink and Leon Meyer.  The next game for the guys is Friday Nov 13  9 pm vs Red Army.

Basketball

The Rams were in action on Wednesday Nov 4 when they travelled to Halifax to play the UKC Blue Devils.  The final was 120 – 53 for Kings. Top Scorers for the Rams – Isaac Bokma and Neel Amin (13 each) and Cole Yuill (11)

Badminton

The DAL AC Badminton Team travelled to Universite Ste Anne for the first ACAA Tournament of the year – Nov 6-7.  The Rams finished 4th in their first outing.  The next competition will be at DAL AC on Nov 29 2015.

Women’s Volleyball

The Rams travelled to New Brunswick this past weekend to meet STU and UNBSJ.  On Saturday , the Rams met STU and had a great match with close scores , but lost 3-1 (22-25, 23-25, 25-20,21-25).  On Sunday the Rams met the Seawolves and took them to task winning a great match 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-20) .  A good start to ACAA league play!

Woodsmen

The Rams travelled to Sir Sandford Fleming for the second CILA competition of the year at Lindsay Ontario on Saturday.  The teams placed very well – Men’s A -1st, Men’s B- 6th, Women’s A – 2nd, Women’s B-6th.  The next competition is January 23, 2016 at Mcdonald Campus in Ste Anne de Belleveau.
