Female Leaders in Academia (FLIA) is excited to launch its new 2015-2016 schedule for the academic year.
FLIA is a group that was formed in September 2014 at the Faculty of Agriculture by Dr. Sarah Stewart-Clark. The group was formed to address the change required to ensure more female academics advance vertically into leadership roles in academia.
Please join FLIA in Haley 112 on Tuesday, October 20th from 2:30-4:30 to hear Dr. Tamara Franz-Odantaal, the NSERC WISE Atlantic Chair, speak about the current status of female academics in science and engineering.
This is the first meeting of the academic year so there will also be a Meet&Greet with coffee and refreshments for any new members. Female professors, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and undergraduate students interested in pursuing academic careers are welcome to attend.
Certificates of completion will be awarded at the end of the academic year for all participants who participate in our monthly activities. For more information please send an email to sarah.stewart-clark@dal.ca.
Meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of every month so mark 2:30-4:30 off on your calendars and join us for skill development, discussions, book club and networking. Babies are welcome.
