Course Description: 2014/2015, Winter term. The AFW course intends to provide learners opportunities to develop their understanding and skills in criticality, synthesizing, and systems thinking as they examine intersecting local, regional and global issues in agriculture, food, and wellbeing. This course builds upon all earlier courses, including AGRI 1000, agriculture and food systems. The intersection of issues involving agricultural systems and policies, animal science, plant science, agricultural engineering, food production and processing, and soil science along with social science are investigated to obtain a deeper understanding of the many dimensions that influence well-being. This course requires participation in class work, case-study, problem-solving exercises, and self-directed research work.  This course helps you to meet one of your Humanities requirements for a 3000 level or above.

Course Schedule:  Two 1.5 hour segments – perhaps Tuesday and Thursday evening 6:05-7:30 pm
