The Senate Subcommittee on Fisheries and Oceans is conducting a national tour investigating the current status of the aquaculture industry in Canada.

Due to Dalhousie University’s leadership in aquaculture research and our contribution to training high quality personnel in the aquaculture industry (as one of only two universities that offers BSc and MSc level training in aquaculture) the following senators will be visiting the DAL AC Aquaculture Centre on May 28th to see our training and research programs firsthand.

Senator Fabian Manning (Newfoundland-Labrador), Chair of the Senate Standing Committee, Fisheries and Oceans
Senator Sandra M. Lovelace Nicholas (New Brunswick)
Senator Thomas Johnson McInnis (Nova Scotia)
Senator Terry M. Mercer (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
Senator Jim Munson (Ottawa/Rideau Canal, Ontario)
Senator Rose-May Poirier (Saint-Louis-de-Kent, New Brunswick)
Senator David M. Wells (Newfoundland and Labrador)

The inclusion of the Dalhousie Aquaculture Centre into the Senator’s national tour recognizes the contribution and leadership that the Dalhousie Aquaculture Centre is playing on a regional and national scale.
