Registration deadline approaching for Agri‑Food Startup Weekend March 28‑30

Invest a weekend, learn about entrepreneurship and jump-start your business!

Do you have an idea that will solve a problem for agriculture? Or would you like to see first-hand what it takes to launch a startup? Come to the first ever Agri-Food Start Up Week-end Truro, taking place Friday evening, March 28 to Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Perennia Innovation Centre.

The outcome: 54 hours focused on validating new product and business ideas and exploring innovative solutions to problems challenging the growth of our agri-food sector.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life!

Registration deadline: March 23! Go to http://truro.startupweekend.org or contact Jolene MacEachern at (902) 893-5301 or jmaceachern@dal.ca.
