Over the next few weeks faculty and staff will have an opportunity to become involved in the development of our Faculty strategic plan through a number of workshops that will be held here on campus on the 23rd and 31st of January. The workshops will be facilitated by Jim Neale, an experienced facilitator who is also currently working with us on the development of our Faculty research plan. My vision for our strategic plan is not to develop a long, verbose document that is written just because it has to be and put on a shelf for the next five years but rather to develop a short, punchy document that can be read in a matter of minutes and will give the reader a clear understanding of what our Faculty vision is; what our key strategic aims are for the next five years and how we intend to reach and achieve those aims. This will be OUR plan and so it is really important that as many of you as possible have a chance to have input into it…I strongly encourage you to attend one of these sessions. For catering purposes, please let Theresa Blois know which session you plan to attend (Theresa.blois@dal.ca or 893-6720).
