Ryan Peterson, an international food business student at the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, delivered a cheque for $1,715 to the Canadian Red Cross Truro branch's Raye Leier, service centre co-ordinator. Students in the program hosted a fundraiser for a local non-profit organization and Peterson's group chose the Red Cross. The money will go toward the funding assistance for house fire season, which is currently underway.
