Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a Government of Canada initiative that provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while achieving tangible results for both students (between the ages of 15 and 30) and their communities. Last year, Dal-AC received funding for five of its seventeen proposed submissions, totaling $6,180.00.
This year, the period to apply for Canada Summer Jobs 2014 will be December 2, 2013 to January 10, 2014, which is earlier than in previous years. These new dates will allow employers to be notified of their application status earlier. Program information is available online at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/epb/yi/yep/programs/scpp.shtml
As in previous years, Tricia Lake will be facilitating the 2014 CSJ Program. Please complete and forward ONLY PAGE 2 (attached) of the application to her in the Office of the Faculty Administrator, Suite 112, Cumming Hall, no later than Thursday, January 2, 2014. Tricia will complete the remainder of the application on your behalf, but please be sure to include your name and contact information with the submitted form. If you have any questions, please contact Tricia at ext. 6034 or tricia.lake@dal.ca .
