We all have a shared responsibility to establish and maintain a climate of respect in the workplace. This workshop is intended to raise awareness about the importance of a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for all. It also offers a forum for generating ideas for achieving inclusiveness, understanding and respect while acknowledging, valuing and accommodating differences.
The workshop highlights Dalhousie’s Personal Harassment Policy and reviews the other policies in place designed to protect individuals’ rights, such as Dalhousie’s Statement on Prohibited Discrimination, the Sexual Harassment Policy, the University’s Accommodation Policy and the Code of Student Conduct. Workshop participants will also be provided with a list of resources which can be accessed safely and confidentially.
This session focuses on the roles and responsibilities of staff, managers, faculty members and students in the creation of a harassment-free working and learning environment.
