Meet your DASA Executive

Posted by stephanie rogers on September 3, 2013 in News

On behalf of the Dalhousie Agricultural Students' Association (DASA), I would like to welcome everyone back to another year at the Faculty of Agriculture and introduce your 2013/2014 DASA executive team.

This year, our VP Finance position will once again be held by Rebecca O'Connell, a fourth year business student.  Rebecca is extremely involved in agriculture, and is more than capable of managing student fees, and distributing club budgets.  Stop in to see Rebecca, affectionately called 'Reebs' to learn more about clubs and budgets.

Scott Butler, a third year student, will be filling the role of VP External Affairs. Scott has experience as President of Fraser House, and will be more than capable in this DASA role.  Scott will primarily be handling House Challenges, so track him down for more information, or to suggest possible events!

Jessica Compagnon, an Animal Science student, and former President of Chapman House, will be serving as VP Internal Affairs. We are looking forward to Jessica's experience on the team.  Come on down to the student lounge to meet up with Jessica, and learn about ways to get involved!

Harris Bakker, a proud potato farmer from New Brunswick, will be once again serving as VP Administration.  Harris keeps the DASA executive on track with his extremely detailed minutes.  He also handles student elections, and wins woodsmen events in his spare time.

Robyn McCallum will be holding the position of President for the 2013/2014 year.  Along with chairing the Student Representative Council, Robyn will serve as the spokesperson for DASA, and work with the executive team to make sure this is another great year for students.

DASA is pleased to announce Patricia Jeffcock will be returning as manager.  Pat's wealth of knowledge and experience is certainly valued by all students.  DASA would also like to thank Jessica Weir for her skills and efficiency as manager for the past year, and wish her all the best

The student lounge in Cox 32 has recently received a facelift.  With assistance from Farm Credit Canada (FCC), DASA was able to paint the lounge and offices, as well as order new furniture to better serve students.  Come check us out and look for our grand opening ceremony with FCC representatives.
