From March 9-23, a delegation from Dalhousie travelled to China, visiting more than 10 universities and research institutes building on Dal's long-standing relationships with Chinese universities.
The delegation included Asa Kachan (Registrar; Assistant Vice-President Enrolment Management), Keith Taylor (Associate Vice-President, Academic Programs), Alain Boutet (Executive Director, International Relations) and Chenxi Xu (Grad Student Services and Admissions Clerk).
The delegation had a chance to join Dr. Claude Caldwell and Shannon Kilyanek from the Faculty of Agriculture, who just finished up three weeks of teaching and counseling of students in the 2+2 program at FAFU. Claude and Shannon have been spending time at FAFU every year since the program began and they have had a tremendous impact on the program’s success and on FAFU generally. Faculty members from other programs at FAFU often drop by to observe Shannon and Claude when they teach and the contributions they have made to curriculum development at the institution.
In recognition, Shannon was awarded a Friendship Award for her great service to FAFU over the past ten years.
