Aquaculture student and pub manager Sarah Harding poses for a picture with the NSAC “cube” sign along with Facilities staff Ed Bowers, Gordie Farrell, Dwayne Warwick and Gary Devouge.
An iconic piece of NSAC history has found a permanent home in the Faculty of Agriculture’s student pub known as “The Barn.”
The former campus sign, erected more than 30 years ago on the corner of Pictou Road and Cumming Drive on the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, was offered to pub manager and fourth year Aquaculture student Sarah Harding by Facilities Manager Phil Talbot.
“Everyone loves it and it’s become a popular spot for photo taking,” she explained. “It’s a piece of our history and this is the perfect home for it.”
Talbot had received numerous requests for the popular sign but knew it belonged with the students.
“We felt the pub was the perfect place for the sign to live, close to our students and our alumni,” he added.
The sign, which is 4’ wide and 5’ high, was delivered to its permanent location last week.
