On June 2, 2008 I was blessed with two tiny miracles and unknowingly I would become blessed with dear friendship as well. In our NICU room housed our twin boys and adjacent them, 3 little girls born 36 hours earlier. With only our monitors continuously beeping we became very close to the Given family. Although we supported each other through our 3 month time together, with endless medical issues, it wasn't until we were home, away from the physician advice that we became even more close.
The triplets each struggled separately, with medical conditions including open heart surgery. Payton was diagnosed with Cerebral Palasy and cannot walk. She is one of the most determined and inspirational people I have ever met. Following Payton's diagnosis, the family underwent major hardships where the father, Brad lost employment; Amy was struggling with a major health issue and unfortunately left the earth too early. Approaching the one year anniversary of Amy's passing I would like to provide some additional financial support for this deserving family.
Selling for $5 each are some toques to support Payton (image attached) to aid in equipping her to best meet her physical needs. If interested in purchasing one, please contact me: amcconkey@dal.ca
Thanks, as any support for this family is appreciated.
