Even though our campaign does not officially start until October 29, we have started to raise funds for this very worthwhile organization.

Proceeds from the Kick Off Luncheon - $88.00 and from the Silent Auction - $150.00; a good start to meeting our goal and hopefully surpassing it. Thank you to everyone who purchased luncheon tickets.  Last year our campus had a 21% participation rate – total raised by you- $9,020.32; let’s see if we can surpass that amount and participation rate.

Employee Pledge Sheets

Payroll Deduction is the best and easiest way to support the United Way of Colchester County.

You can contribute as little as .50 or $1.00 per pay.  You don’t even notice it coming off your pay and it all adds up to be a significant contribution.  Just think if everyone on campus contributed $1.00 per pay, it would accumulate to thousands of dollars in one year.  You can also use the Employee Pledge Sheets for a one-time donation.  Every bit helps.

Your contribution is assisting groups like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Maggie’s Place, Christmas Index Program, Canadian Mental Health Association, Third Place Transition House (Brookfield, Tatamagouche, Truro, Onslow, Bass River and Bible Hill); the United Way assists in every part of the County. Examples:  $1.00 off each pay is $26/year – this provides one participant four weeks of meals within the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Personal Development Food Services program.  $2.00/pay = $52/year – provides four weeks of healthy snacks for children attending the Parent and Tot Playgroups offered by Maggie’s Place.  $5/pay = $130/year – provides one at risk child with supportive counseling offered by the Teen Outreach Worker at Third Place Transition House.  $6.00/pay = $156/year – provides after school programming at the Boys & Girls Club for one child for four weeks.  These are just a few examples of your money at work in your community.

Please let me know how many sheets you would like to have for your section.  Deadline for these sheets to be returned to me is November 5, 2012.

Remember all money raised in Colchester County stays in Colchester County.  The Truro Section of the NSDA’s participation rate is double our rate and they have fewer employees.  Spread the word to everyone in your area.  Let’s show our community spirit by supporting the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus United Way Campaign.
