Halifax Sunset Cruise on the Tall Ship Silva
The Symposium has booked the tall ship “Silva” for a social function on Monday (August 26). Delegates will be taken by bus from the Lord Nelson Hotel at 6:15 p.m. and travel to the Cable Warf for the boat departure at 7 p.m. Experience golden hour, that magical time of night when the sun makes its way below the horizon. Wine, beer, cocktails, and other beverages can be purchased at the onboard bar before you set off from Cable Wharf, cruise past historic Georges Island and make your way towards Maugher Beach and the iconic McNabs Island lighthouse. If conditions are favorable, you’ll be invited to help raise the sails before the Silva circles back for a cruise alongside the stunning Halifax Waterfront. As the sun sets and reflects against the city skyline, historic buildings, and open waters, be sure to snap and share plenty of photos and videos. The Halifax Sunset Cruise is the perfect blend of scenic beauty, relaxation, and unforgettable maritime charm. The boat tour lasts 1.5 hours and transportation will be provided back to the hotel. Delegates wishing to explore the waterfront have the option to remain (it is an 18 minute walk back to the hotel). Please note that the purchase of ticket using the Symposium’s registration system is required and that the number of tickets being sold is restricted to 150 (boat capacity).
Please note that supper will not be provided on the tour so delegates are responsible for their own meal arrangements. It is also advised for delegates to check the weather and dress accordingly.
