Facility Access After‑Hours
Access to the high-resolution NMR spectrometers of NMR-3 is available to ALL appropriately trained researchers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the Monday to Friday work week, the Dalhousie Chemistry building is open between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm; outside of this time period ("after-hours"), the building is locked. For researchers working within the Dalhousie Department of Chemistry, you already will have Chemistry building access and so after-hours access poses no issues. For researchers coming from other Dalhousie buildings or other academic institutions, additional arrangements will have to be made.
In order to obtain after-hours access to the NMR-3 facility, proceed as follows:
- The research supervisor is to complete the "After Hours Access" form.
- Upon receipt of the form and after confirming the researcher in question is properly trained, Mike will contact the Chemistry Admin office and authorize the after-hours access.
- The researcher will be contacted by the Chemistry Admin office to setup an appointment during which a building access code will be issued.
Note that keys are not issued for the exterior door of the Chemistry building. Exterior access is only available through the LSC link (security present - id will be required).
