As a result of his efforts and his travels to Europe and the United States, he became an expert in pork production and established a sophisticated hog operation which now houses over 2,200 animals, producing pork products for the Newfoundland market an well as being a supplier of quality breeding stock to his fellow farmers.
A strong supporter of farm organizations, Colin Bull served as a member of the Newfoundland Egg and Hog Marketing Boards, as a Commissioner of the Farm Credit Appeals Board, as a Director of the Agricultural Exhibition and was a member of the Agricultural Society.
His interests in his community and his concern for the education of young people led to the establishment of the Colin O. Bull Memorial Scholarship. His community and his church received his attention as well, having assisted with over a dozen community groups and committees. Colin Bull was inevitably found wherever he felt he could be of assistance to his industry and his community.
Nominated by the Nlfd. Hog Marketing Board, the contributions of Colin O. Bull merit recognition in the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame
