Dal Innovates is actively recruiting for its Fall 2025 programs. The programs are all about turning bold ideas into real-world impact. They're open to students and researchers who are ready to explore innovation, dive into entrepreneurship, and bring their research or ventures to life.

These opportunities provide hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and a chance to join a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. You’ll find a quick overview of each program below, along with key dates and deadlines.
 

Lab2Market Validate (L2M Validate)

In partnership with UNB, this program empowers researchers to explore the commercial potential of their innovations.
Who it's for: Canadian researchers (Master’s, PhDs, Postdocs)

• 4-month program to assess product-market fit, with $10,000 in funding
• Access to mentors, funders, training, and customer interviews
• Atlantic Fall 2025 Cohort Dates:
  • Applications Close: May 23, 2025
  • Virtual Info Session: May 7, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm
  • Program runs: Late September to January 2026

Collide Validate

For students and recent grads looking to test their entrepreneurial ideas.
Who it's for: Current students, faculty, or recent grads (up to 2 years) in Atlantic Canada

• Hands-on, 6-week training + 2 prep sessions on business model validation
• $500 stipend for completion and CCR-eligible (Dal & King’s)
• Virtual Fall 2025 Cohort Dates:
  • Apply by: April 30, 2025
  • Program runs: October 1 – November 26, 2025

Mitacs i2I Skills Training

An 8-month hybrid program helping STEM grads take innovations to market.
Who it's for: Graduate students or alumni in STEM (within 5 years)

• Academic-style commercialization training led by SFU’s Beedie School of Business, on-site support at Dalhousie
• Hybrid delivery with online flexibility and networking opportunities
• Program runs: September 2025 – April 2026
• Application Deadline: May 5, 2025
