Public Health Agency of Canada

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on October 28, 2024 in Research Funding

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is pleased to launch the next solicitation for projects under the Infectious Disease and Climate Change Fund (IDCCF). PHAC is currently accepting Letters of Intent from interested applicants to address the impact of climate change on human health.

Objectives of this solicitation:

1. Building capacity and resiliency of Indigenous Peoples on climate-sensitive infectious diseases and health with projects developed by and with First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples (distinctions-based approach).

This priority supports community-designed and driven projects focused on raising awareness and driving action through the development of tools on climate-sensitive infectious diseases and health, developing resources and promoting awareness that are reflective of Indigenous ways of knowing and culturally appropriate methodologies recognizing the need for Indigenous self-determination in action.

2. Mobilizing evidence and raising awareness to take action

This priority focuses on leveraging the current understanding on climate-sensitive infectious diseases to raise awareness and address the knowledge to action gap at the local, regional and national levels and among key populations (e.g., population groups facing disproportionate risk due to existing inequities).
