The CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) has partnered with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to launch the inaugural AACR-CIHR Scholar-in-Training Awards (SITAs) to support PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and post-health degree fellows to attend and present their research at the AACR Annual Meeting 2025, the world’s largest cancer research conference. Below are further details on the AACR-CIHR SITAs as well as reminders on other cancer-related funding opportunities.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, ICR is organizing a special research seminar led by Dr. Marc Gunter, Professor at Imperial College London (UK) titled “Obesity and Cancer: Epidemiology, Mechanisms and Prevention.” The seminar will be offered in a hybrid format on November 4, from 12:30-1:30 PM EST.
