Volunteer for the Alliance’s Merit Review Committee
The Alliance will soon be recruiting volunteer experts for its Merit Review Committee to support upcoming funding opportunities. Call for participation for the Alliance Cloud Connect Pilot: Join us in the development of a unique cloud platform for Canadian researchers
The Alliance has launched a call for participation in search of platform developers to support the Alliance Cloud Connect Pilot (ACCP). This initiative forms part of the Alliance’s 2023-25 DRI investments, and we invite participants from diverse sectors to work together in an open and collaborative context to facilitate researcher use of cloud infrastructure.

This call is open to:

  • Commercial vendors
  • Members of the Canadian DRI ecosystem
  • Open-source developers
  • Service and platform providers
  • Engineers and specialists (cloud architects, DevOps, DevSecOps, CloudOps, etc.) from various sectors with the capability to deliver results by having the necessary expertise, resources, infrastructure and support systems to contribute to the success of this project

Application deadline: April 24, 2024.

The ACCP is a pilot project that aims to build national cloud research capacity and deliver on the Alliance’s mandate to meet the increasing DRI resource demand from the Canadian research community. As a pilot project, the user can opt in to use the cloud service that suits their needs – whether it is the Alliance’s community cloud solution or another provider’s solution.

For more information, including project overview, eligibility, submission guidelines, criteria for acceptance, and more visit the website at alliancecan.ca/en/accp.

Inaugural Borealis Steering Committee and Governing Bylaws
As a partner of Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository, the Alliance congratulates the inaugural members of the Borealis Steering Committee! The Committee has been established to foster national governance for Borealis and will oversee the implementation of bylaws which are grounded in the principles of transparency, equity, sustainability and bilingualism. The establishment of the committee marks a significant step forward in providing essential governance for this national shared service. We look forward to the new governance model and to continued support for researchers through the discovery, management, sharing and preservation of Canadian research data.
