The Canadian Science Policy, in partnership with Canada's Chief Science Advisor, Dr. Mona Nemer, is pleased to announce the fourth iteration of its high-impact program: Science Meets Parliament, 2024 edition.
Science Meets Parliament is a non-advocacy program that offers scientists working in Canada a unique opportunity to learn about the parliamentary process, explore their role in modern political decision-making, and experience a day behind the scenes on Parliament Hill to meet with MPs and Senators, attend House and Senate committee meetings, discuss scientific research, and become familiar with the political process.
This year, the program will be available to three groups of researchers:
- Researchers who currently hold a Tier II Canada Research Chair position and are affiliated with a Canadian research institution.
- Indigenous Principal Investigators.
- Researchers who currently hold a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship and are affiliated with a Canadian research institution.
For more information on the program, eligibility criteria, and how to apply, please visit the page on the CSPC website. You can also find additional details about the program in the attached SMP Brochure document [PDF 5 MB].
The Science Meets Parliament committee will be hosting a virtual information session on September 19th, 11:30-12:30 PM EST, to introduce the program and answer any questions you may have. Please register in advance here.
