In partnership with Global Affairs Canada (GAC), IDRC invites concept notes to advance gender equality through the promotion of policy and program innovations that foster the recognition, reduction, and redistribution of women’s unpaid care work in sub-Saharan Africa.

Projects must be led by an organization in sub-Saharan Africa, however researchers in Canada are eligible as collaborators.

There are two funding levels for this call:

• Up to $300,000 for scaling policy innovations to recognize women’s unpaid care work
• Up to $1.25M for scaling program innovations to reduce and redistribute unpaid care work

Projects should be 18-36 months in duration

Concept note deadline: June 23, 2023. Select applications will be invited to submit full proposals.
