*NEW* Canada Gairdner Momentum Award
First Stage Nominations due JULY 15, 2022
Two $50,000 awards given annually
Mid-career investigators working in Canada who in their last six active years have produced exceptional scientific research contributions with continued potential for impact on human health. Submissions from all areas of health research welcome, including but not limited to discovery, clinical, global health, and population science and translational research.
Secondary and self-nominations both accepted.

Canada Gairdner International Award
Nominations due OCTOBER 1, 2022
Five $100,000 awards given annually
Awarded to outstanding biomedical scientists who have made original contributions to medicine resulting in an increased understanding of human biology and disease.
The award is intended for seminal bodies of work, not cumulative lifetime achievement. Self-nominations not accepted for the International Award.

Early Career Investigator Opportunity
2022 Gairdner ECI Award
Submissions due AUGUST 1, 2022
This call is open to all faculty and professionals at the Assistant Professor or equivalent rank working at Canadian institutions. Research must be connected to this year’s laureate fields.
Awardees are selected by the laureates, and will present their research as part of the Gairdner Science Week events in October 2022 and participate in a networking session with 2022 laureates. The talks will be broadcast live and recorded for YouTube distribution globally.
