The Office of Commercialization and Industry Engagement (OCIE) is pleased to announce two new Managing Directors.
Ben Goldberg – Managing Director, Industry Engagement and Customer Experience
Ben Goldberg joins OCIE with 10 years of experience in post-secondary education, focused on commercializing science and technology. Most recently, Ben was instrumental in the establishment and growth of the Creative Destruction Lab, both at Dalhousie University and at the University of Oxford. Ben holds a BA from Mount Allison University, and an MBA from Dalhousie. As Managing Director, Industry Engagement and Customer Experience, he will focus on further strengthening OCIE’s relationships with industry partners.
Adam Haller – Managing Director, Commercialization & Licensing
Adam takes on the Managing Director role after a brief period as OCIE’s Associate Legal Counsel. Adam joined Dalhousie after 10 years practicing intellectual property law at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP in Toronto. Adam brings significant experience as an advisor to companies of all sizes, in a range of industry sectors, on managing their IP strategies and portfolios and has appeared before various courts and tribunals in patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret disputes. Adam holds a BSc from Queen’s University and a JD from the University of Toronto. As Managing Director, Commercialization & Licensing, Adam is keen to help Dalhousie get its world leading technology to market and put to impactful use.
